Mine only hauled two doggos to the doggie country club and back for a day of grooming.

Just FYI, for supercabs, which are rare in the F150 world these days, if you get a creaking/rattle sound near your head when you are driving slowly on a bumpy road, it’s the door striker, just needs some white lithium grease on it.
Its the latch where the mini passengers doors make contact when you close it, the top latch closest to your head. Just give the latch a very light coating of grease.

At one point when I was in the Navy I was working in this warehouse that was chronically short on space, but also full of crap. So I was going through trying to purge junk and found these pallets of boxes of that old white and green butterfly fold printer paper. Nobody uses that anymore so I figured we could recycle it. I got the F-150 out of the motor pool and we loaded a pallet in the back and I set off across base for the recycling center. Slowly.
I made like 6 trips, one pallet at a time, at about 12 mph. Not because I couldn’t go faster, but because I was afraid I wouldnt be able to stop. We later figured those pallets were 3000 some pounds each. And the poor F-150 had a permanent sag after that.

How’s the room in back with those stubby doors
![]() 04/13/2019 at 22:09 |

Pretty good actually, tons of headroom and adequate knee room for all but the tallest of talls . It’s a six passenger vehicle for all practical purposes.

the helper springs and HD shocks that come with the payload package should help prevent long-term sag ;)
edit: I was just looking at the spec again, the 2.7 supercab with the Payload package actually has the highest rated bed-payload capacity for 4x4 F150s (2018 MY) at 2,2 00 lbs.

Someone went overboard on toilet paper at Costco. Will those even fit in the holder?

That’s surprising pictures seem to show it as barely adequate for adults for all extended cabs and the crew being the only way to go when carrying people lots

I mean, no one ive had back there was taller than 5'10", but the usual comment is “wow, there’s a lot of room back here!” rather than complaints. I’ m sure the crew has more comfy seats and is easier to get in and out of - - the open side resulting from the mini suicide doors leaves nothing for rear passengers to grab when climbing in, asside from the front seat back— but the super cab is a very practical size. Plenty of room for semi-regular passengers, and the rear bench folds up to leave a very spacious interior load floor.

A working truck is a rare thing...how long is that bed?

Thanks for the feedback may have to rethink my thoughts on the crew cab. Probably just need to put a child seat in the back to see the ultimate test.

something I noticed when I went looking for information for these is that there is a big gap between everyone’s half ton GVWR and everyone’s 3/4 ton. They all jump up from no higher than 7200 to well over 8500. There is no middle ground. I wonder why? There is nothing stopping them from rating them higher up to 8500 since they would still be half tons.

6.5, its the only configuration the 2.7 p ayload package is available in.

Doesn’t the Titan HD live in that space?
Also, the the 5.0 and 3.5eb F150 standard cab are both 8250.

Phew...still shorter than mine. Our VW has an 8 foot alloy flat bed tray . Two round bales fit within the dropsides...just!

I still think its stupid that the payload package is on ly available with the 6.5 foot bed. The model with the 8 foot bed has a lower GVW :|

Really? That's...stupid.
![]() 04/15/2019 at 15:45 |

Actually I was re-reading the spec, and it’s technically tied to wheelbase, not bed length... the complification being that in order to get a Supercab with the Payload package you are stuck with the 6.5-foot bed, if you get a Singlecab with the 8-foot bed, it can have the payload package. No Crewcab model can have the payload package, nor can the Singlecab short-bed. (for 2.7 ecoboost-powered models only, there’s a whole other set of package limits for the other engines)

Okay...now that makes more sense but strikes me as ridiculously complicated. If you buy a Ford Transit here then you are merely presented with specific maximum payloads for each body type (two) and length ( three for single cab, one for dual cab ). With Ranger...you get what you get.

Ford - Or How To Profit Through Range Complexity.
That's way too many combinations of body, driveline, engine and diff ratios for the average punter.
